Wow. I am very impressed. It really looks like the fish and ray are floating. Everything is so precise. Did you cut out the paper first and then do the shadows based on that? It's so surreal, yet it feels like it should be real. :) Wonderful!

Thank you! It is one of my favourite pieces, to date. I sketched up the entire thing (so, shapes and shadows), then traced the shapes of the ray and fish onto a blank piece of paper (using a window as a backlight). Then, I did all the ink work on watercolour paper, cut out the shapes from the blank white paper, and glued them on.
